Question about RA3000 and non-cluster

I have an ES40 with an RA3000 attached to it. I just received a DS20 to go in
the same rack. The ES40 runs part of our real time weather model, and the DS20
will do continual preprocessing of input data as it comes in. So I would really
like o directly plug the RA3000 in to the DS20 as well and mount the same
virtual disk. However, I don't want to set up a cluster, as the failover etc. is
irrelevant here. If one is gone, the other will never be able to take overe the
services. So my question is can I dual mount a virtual disk off of an RA3000
without clustering the systems.
Thanks.
