Hi all,

I just ran into an odd problem using usermod on Dec Unix 5.0a:

When logged in as root I cannot remove secondary groups of a user (who is
not logged in on the system) with usermod.

This is what happens:
# groups sx02089
system users sysadmin usradd usrmod usrrm passwd cvsusers usrman
# usermod -G system sx02089
# groups sx02089
system users sysadmin usradd usrmod usrrm passwd cvsusers usrman

Is anybody familiar with this (strange) behaviour and what to do about it?
Editing /etc/group works, but I want to use usermod from a shell-script.

TIA,

Jacco van Buuren.
