[Question] Determining oracle memory usage

Hi,

We are running oracle 8.0.6 on DU 40F. We have 8Gb of memory and usually several hundred Mb of free memory. The oracle DBA's claim that oracle is using only 970Mb on the system. When using ipcs I calculated oracle was using about 7Gb and then added the rest of the non oracle processes and got the amount of free memory that top displays as free.

I have been trying various commands to determine exactly how much memory oracle is using but get different results on none total the amount of memory we have.

Does anyone know how to calculate the total amount of memory oracle is using on the system? This would include shared memory.

Thanks
Will Robinson
