All sugguested using "dsfmgr -m"
Must be that I was not clear in my inital question
I have a script for backup.
I am doing the following (for a few diskset)
1) add a disk to a mirrorset for cloning
2) break the disk from the mirror set and issue a new unit (D7)
3) issue the command hwmgr -scan scsi | grep (string of SCSI) > file
4) manipulate the file to get the new_dsk_name
5) issue a dsfmgr -m new_dsk_name wanted_dsk_name
6) backup the disk
Each time that is done, a new device (dsk name) will be created. This is too
messy for maintanence. I am looking for a method to fix the dsk_name like
MAKEDEV in version 4
