LSM, advfs, and no /dev/vol dir

I, not knowing the damage that can happen, used the dn_setup clear command
to try to clean out the /dev directory. I cleans it out all right
including the /dev/vol directory. Now I can't mount /usr because it was an
encapsulated ADVFS filesystem. I also didn't have a /etc/vol/volboot for
some reason. Is there any way to my disk group, vol, etc configurations
back (this is a non-production, new setup system, so I have no backup).
But it would be nice not to reinstall tru64 5.1. I've tried to setup a new
diskgroup and enabling it with voldctl enable, but it gives me an error
saying the configuration do not match. Does it save the configuration on
the drives somewhere? and if so how can I use that configuration? Also, do I
have to redo my volume stuff since /dev/vol is gone? thanks.
