Hello Tru64 Admin
I have the following problem:
We are runnung Tru64 Unix 4.0E with sendmail 8.8.8 on a system, that is
central Mail-Hub .
Now it happend that a connection to another System to which mails had to
be deliverd was down for some hours.
Then the connection was up again and our mailhub connected to that
System and deliverd these mail.
Everything alright sofar.
After delivery of these mails our mailhub sent delivery-status mail to
the sender of these mail telling them, that
after some hours their mail could be delivered.
Also this is not our problem
Our problem is now:
These status-mails "deliverd" hat an empty "FROM:" field, which caused
our Firewall (across which this mail had
to travel) to reject that mail. As I was told this empty FROM field is
compliant to the corresponding RFC's but our
firewall admins want to keep their rule that rejects mail with empty
FROM field.
Does anybody know where to configure that?
If you need examples for this mail-traffic please mail me!
Thanks in advance
