My original questions are:
1. Are there any sites out there running Trucluster V5.1 on EMC disks thru
fibre channel switch?
2. If yes, can we also boot the system from the EMC disks?.

The answers to both questions is yes. EMC Symmetrix is supported on
Trucluster V5.1 and yes, you can boot the system from it as well.

Below is an extract from one of the reply that I find useful to share. This
is regarding the bit settings on the EMC Symmetrix that must be turn on in
order to work properly:

"You can connect EMC disks to a TruCluster V5.1 environment and boot of a
Fibrechannel attached disk. In order to connect an EMC disk array to a
TruCluster V5.1 environment and take advantage of the new features
offered in 5.1 (multi-path/bus for I/O) the EMC array must be correctly
configured. EMC has all the information they need to make this work, they
need to set the 'T' (Tagged Command Queue Bit, needed to make
multi-bus/concurrent I/O work), 'C' (Commong Addressing Bit, to present a
given LUN via multiple ports using one WWID) and "OpenVMS" bits."
