SUMMARY: A problem with full installation using RIS

I would like to thank Thomas.Reu_at_compaq.com and tpb_at_doctor.zk3.dec.com
for useful suggestions. However, the problem was caused by a
single broken port on the hub which connected the two computers.
Unfortunately, I did think of replacing the cable which connected
the new computer but did not try also to change the ports.
The port apparently _does_ let through some of the data, as
shown by the log, but nevertheless succeds in garbling the messages.
