Firmware revs vs. OS ver.

Hi guys, it's again, in the final stages on my
upgrades. My newest challenge is finding out what rev
"should" go with that OS ver. These are systems I have
inherited, and I have cd's for all different firmware
revs lying around. But for my machines, this is what I
have:
Machine A: Alpha 4100, OSF/1 V.4.0F, firmware 5.0
(obtained from /usr/var/messages)
Machine B: Alpha 2100, OSF/1 V.4.0F, firmware 5.3
Machine C: (from /usr/var/messages also) Digital
Personal Workstation 433au, firmware rev 6.6 running
OSF/1 V.4.0D (Does this need any firmware upgrade?)

Now, I have firmware cd's from versions 5.3 to 5.7
lying around.
1. Any advice to what should go with what, or any
documentation that clearly states this?
2. If I am couple versios back, are these firmware
update cd's cummulative or I have load one after
another?
3. Will Machine C also require this similar type of
firmware?

Installation manual simply says that every software
ships with its firmware cd (or I might have
overlooked??), but mine is all over the place. Will
appreciate your help as usual.
