I have been charting cpu usage on my DEC 4100 server for the past week. It
has (3) 300 mhz
processors and there are 3 oracle databases on the machine. When I look at
the
output of ps aux in the cpu% column I often see that throughout the day if I
add up
the cumulative cpu usage that all 3 cpu's are running 90-100% EACH. When
this happens
the oracle processes are the causes of the high utilization. I have heard
that if cpu
use on Sun's is above 40-50% something needs to be looked at. Is Dec the
same
way or is 90-100% acceptable on DEC. It seems very high to me. Thanks,
