Hi managers.
I have got a real stooshi for you guys...
We are running ADVFS on a DS20 (pedestal) 1 gig of memory along with LSM and
a RA300 (HSZ22) 4.0F DU.
Currently under the user data area when doing file manipulation on an ADVFS
partition it seems that caching is failing to operate properly.
example:-
cd to directory
cp a file to the current directory
cp another file to the CWD
when I ls -l the files both have their original bytes and names
when I view the files the second file that has been copied has the actual
data of the first file.
vi also informs me that (if second file larger than first) that there are a
series of null characters at the end of the file.
This issue seems to reset itself after we change dir to another dir.
This does not happen on any of the UFS partitions and I have used advfs
utilities to completely move the fs from one device ( internal disk) to
another device (LSM vol on external HSZ22 controller) and still the problem
occurs.
This has only recently started to occur after some inexperienced tampering
from our remote office staff (Where the actual machine resides) so reboots
are dodgy in case of failure to reboot.
I know this is weird one please help
Thanks in advance Paul
