Hello...
After a power failure last night one of my networker 6.0 Tru64 servers
fails to start the networker server deamons. All it starts is nsrexecd.
When nsrd starts (via the S94NSRstartstop script), the following is
written to the /var/nsr/logs/daemon.log file.
12/13/00 13:02:14 nsrd: server notice: started
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrmmdbd: error adding btrees to ss (an invalid slot number)
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrmmdbd: WISS error: an invalid slot number
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrmmdbd: Error on close of volume index file #0 (invalid file number)
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrmmdbd: Error on close of volume index file #1 (invalid file number)
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrmmdbd: Error on close of volume index file #2 (invalid file number)
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrmmdbd: Error on close of volume index file #3 (invalid file number)
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrmmdbd: Error on close of volume index file #4 (invalid file number)
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrd: unable to start nsrmmdbd
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrd: shutting down
12/13/00 13:02:18 nsrd: successful shutdown
When I run nsrck on the server (phobos), I get :
nsrck: checking index for 'phobos.cs.uml.edu'
nsrck: /usr/var/nsr/index/phobos.cs.uml.edu/phobos/phobos.cs.uml.edu contains 0 records occupying 0 KB
nsrck: Completed checking 5 client(s)
A. Any idea what the nsrmmdbd errors are and how to fix them
B. Before I run nsrck -L 1 and/or nsrck -c the /var/nsr/index/phobos.cs.uml.edu
directory has in it :
.nsr
db6
README
db6 has what appears to be a whole set of index stuff, etc.
After I run nsrch, I end up with a
/var/nsr/index/phobos.cs.uml.edu/phobos/phobos.cs.uml.edu directory that
has an empty db6 in it.
Does anybody know what could be happening here? Thanks...
