Hello...
I recently installed KDE 2.0.1 (binaries) on a 5.0a system (personal workstation 500au). The desktop/etc comes
up okay but there are some issues I'd like to see if anybody elase has seen and/or fixed:
1. Logout menu choice doesn't work - it just doesn't do anything. A kill of the kde shell logs me out.
2. The sound functionality just isn't working. I can get the 'bell' to work through my speakers but none of the
notification wav files play. MME is installed and tested on my box. The xmcd CD player that comes with CDE does
work fine with kde, but the kde cd player (kscd) doesn't. I have set the CDROM device to both /dev/rrz0c and
/dev/rdisk/cdrom0c but that doesn't help. I also can't get the kmidi program to play midi stuff.
Anybody have any resolutions to this? Net searches are showing problems like this but no solutions...thanks...
