We found the answer. The SCSI target id we were trying to assign for the 2
devices were 5 and 6.
6 was in use on SystemA as the SCSI id of the card. I imagine that in a
cluster the SCSI id of the cards needs to be different.
We changed the target id of the device configured to use 6.0 to use 5.1
instead, leaving the SCSI card ids at 7 and 6.
Many thanks for the software engineer ( Abbot / Cork, Ireland) from EMC for
helping me find/fix the problem.

SCSI Info:
4 SCSI channels. Systems are 'Y' cable connected
Path is EMC Symmetrix 3430 (4 SCSI channels) --> SystemA 'Y' cable
--> SystemB 'Y' cable --> Terminator
We are attempting to add 2 devices per channel (4.5GB virtual
slices) . There are currently 5 devices per channel ( 9GB virtual slices).
( Plus gatekeepers)
The 2 devices per channel that we are trying to add were previously
configured on a different EMC channel to a different 4100 that has been
phased out and off of EMC.
The 2 devices per channel are simply being reassigned to different
channels.
The desired result is to see 7 devices per SCSI channel ( plus
gatekeeper).
PROBLEM:
After the EMC config has been done to add the 2 new devices per
channel the following is happening. ( All at the system/delta
level prior to OS).
When I poll SystemB ( p000>>sh dev pks*) I see the appropriate
devices per SCSI channel ( 7 devices plus gatekeeper,
0.0,1.0,2.0,3.0,4.0,5.0,6.0 + 15.0)
When I poll SystemA ( p000>>sh dev pks*) I see too many devices per
SCSI channel ( 15 devices
0.0,1.0,2.0,3.0,4.0,5.0,7.0,8.0,9.0,10.0,11.0,12.0,13.0,14.0,15.0)
EMC is looking into the problem, however, I can only keep my system
down so long to troubleshoot.
It is very confusing to see 2 systems on the same SCSI path and
physical cable reporting different devices attached.
The only difference from the last time we added devices to the
channels is that prior the devices were new. This time the devices were
reassigned and in use before.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
