Telnet status

Hi admins,

     We have Tru64 Unix 4.0F and I want to check the status of remote host
(Tru64, Sun, VMS, NT).
     My site's partner, say me with the telnet command, how on VMS. I know
little VMS, so i can to use
     the telnet command on Unix to make this???? or there are a Unix command to
make this????
