    Hi,
Iam having the following configuration on a Digital Ultimate WS 533 au2:

    ewa0_mode Twisted-Pair

     From uerf output:
     ===============
fta0: DEC DEFPA (PDQ) FDDI Interface
  fta0 at pci1 slot 3
  tu0: auto negotiation capable device
  tu0 at pci0 slot 3
  tu0: DEC TULIP (10/100) Ethernet

ifconfig -a gives the following output:
   --------------------------------------

   fta0: flags=8c63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX>
     inet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx netmask ffff0000 broadcast xxx.xxx.255.255 ipmtu
4352

tu0: flags=c63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX>

sl0: flags=10<POINTOPOINT>

lo0: flags=100c89<UP,LOOPBACK,NOARP,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX,NOCHECKSUM>
     inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000 ipmtu 4096

ppp0: flags=10<POINTOPOINT>

At present Iam using the FDDI card. I wanted to use the Ethernet card
installed.
I did the following steps to use the Ethernet card:

    1. Changed FDDI adapter to Ethernet.
    2. Changed the paremeter ewa0_mode from Twisted-Pair to FastFD.
    3. Booted the machine
    4. With netsetup changed the FDDI configuration to tu0 configuration
    5. Restarted the network(stop/start)
    6. Executed the ping command to check the network. No success.
    7. Rebooted the machine

        With ping command NO success.

What Iam doing wrong? How I have to preoceed?
    regards,
    Kumar
