tar: this doesn't look like a tar archive

 Hi All,

I have this error when trying to append to the tar file.

tar: /data/prod/tmp/ABPOPS/file_archive_BSDataDat.tar : This doesn't look
like a tar archive
tar: /data/prod/tmp/ABPOPS/file_archive_BSDataDat.tar : Skipping to next
file...

On the program I'll do in a loop, most of the time the append is OK but
sometime those errors come out. anyone know why? We are using the Tru64
UNIX 4.0f
