Any ideas why Parallel printing goes thru the filter
fine, and tcp below doesn't?? Going to same physical
printer, same host. richard is the tcp logical printer
name.
Printer network name is degas. OSF v4.0F, printer is
HP-8000DN.
duplex:\
:lp=/dev/lp0:\
:sh:mx#0:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd/degas:\
:if=/opt/printfilter/bin/ifhp -Z duplex:\
:of=/opt/printfilter/bin/ofhp:\
:lf=/usr/spool/lpd/degas/errorlog:
[tcp prints duplex fine, but characters overlap
themselves. Any ideas on what to change?]
richard:\
:ct=tcp:\
:lp=_at_degas/port_9100:\
:sh:mx#0:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd/richard:\
:if=/opt/printfilter/bin/ifhp -Z duplex:\
:of=/opt/printfilter/bin/ofhp:\
:lf=/usr/spool/lpd/richard/errorlog:
I am trying to convert all printing to tcp only.
Any disadvantages?? Other servers print thru this
machine, sample printcap from other servers as is now:
duplex:\
:rm=saturn-nfs:rp=duplex:\
:sh:mx#0:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd/degas:\
:lf=/usr/spool/lpd/degas/errorlog:
So if I can get the first machine to work fine, I will
change all other ones so they won't have to queue
requests to this single machine for printing. I have
encountered problems with disk space on the host
connected to the printer, and also it has to go down
for a complete redo. tcp printing should solve my
problem now and forever.
Thanks in advance.
