All Managers:

I'm sure most of you have heard about the new BIND security issues with
concern to versions 4 and 8. I currently have BIND 4.9.3 on my Alpha 1200
running DU 4.0E. When I try to upgrade to the secure version of BIND, 4.9.8
I encounter the following error:

# ls
BSD Makefile.dist bin contrib
named
CHANGES OPTIONS bind-498-REL.tar doc res
INSTALL README compat include
shres
Makefile TODO conf man
tools
# make install
/usr/users/radad1/named498/res
/usr/users/radad1/named498/include
/usr/users/radad1/named498/include/arpa
set -x; for x in inet.h nameser.h; do installbsd -c -m 444 $x
/usr/include/arpa/$x; done
+ installbsd -c -m 444 inet.h /usr/include/arpa/inet.h
+ installbsd -c -m 444 nameser.h /usr/include/arpa/nameser.h
+ installbsd -c -m 444 netdb.h /usr/include/netdb.h
+ installbsd -c -m 444 resolv.h /usr/include/resolv.h
/usr/users/radad1/named498/compat
/usr/users/radad1/named498/compat/include
/usr/users/radad1/named498/compat/include/sys
for x in cdefs.h bitypes.h; do installbsd -c -m 444 $x /usr/include/sys/$x;
done
for x in "" ; do if [ -n "$x" ]; then installbsd -c -m 444 $x
/usr/include/$x; fi; done
/usr/users/radad1/named498/compat/lib
/usr/users/radad1/named498/named
installbsd -c -s -o bin -g bin -m 555 named /usr/sbin/named
install: cannot open named
*** Exit 1
Stop.
*** Exit 1
Stop.
#

This happens with the named process stopped. There is also no file
currently in the /usr/sbin called named.

Any Suggestions. You will have to forgive me if this is a simple answer,
I'm relatively new to the Digital UNIX world. Thanks.
