Actually, I spoke too soon; there are more references but they are
off hiding in other parts of the kernel. So this does seem to be
able to specify "use the old device names", but you really don't
want to be using it. My apologies for not digging through ALL of
the kernel sources looking for the other references.
I still say you don't want to be using this, at some point it will
go away.
