Hi all
I did a thorough search through the archives, but there was no statisfying
solution to ths problem
I run Tru64 4.0F (pk4) on an Alphaserver 1000. (Just for testing purposes,
no serious stuff)
I installed the system on a 3 x 4GB RAID 0 set (like I said, nothing
serious...) swxcrmgr sees all disks optimal, everything's okay.
I added 2 more disks in the backplane, to configure another RAID set.
using ra200rcu to create/configure/initialize -> everything okay
Show dev at boot prompt shows the second raidset -> everything still okay
After boot, the system hasn't recognized the 2nd raidset. No special device
files were added. swxcrmgr sees all disks optimal, that's okay.
A sizer -n myfile shows only the first
device disk re0 at xcr0
So I booted from /genvmunix. Now a sizer -n shows my new raidset
device disk re1 at xcr0
Rebuilt kernel, still... there are no special device files created.
I ran scsimgr -scan_all: no result
Is kernel rebuilding neccessary?
When are devices auto-detected?
What should I do to let the system recognize the new raidset?
Thanks in advance,
Edwin Meijer
