Great and fast responses as always...

Here is what i will be doing:
1) Delete the failed disk
HSG60> delete failedset disk20500

2)
HSG60> set raid2 nopolicy

3) Remove the faulty drive with the new one...

4) Init the new disk to ensure no metadata is on it:
HSG60> init disk20500

5) Put the new disk into the raidset:
HSG60> set raid2 replace=disk20500

6)
HSG60> set raid2 policy=best_performance

That should do it...

Here is the original question:

I have an MA6000/HSG60 with 12 disks. One of this disks failed, it is a
member of a raid5-set.
I just wanted to know if i could just pull the non-working disk out and put
the new one in?
With my current understanding, the HSG60 should begin with the
reconstruction of the disk after the new disk has been inserted.

Is that right or do i have to do a "delete DISKxxxxx" and after that a "add
disk ..." on the HSG60 in order to get this disk to work (and to get the
HSG60 to reconstruct the Raidset)??
