JRUN cpu hog

  Hi Folks

We are running a Tru64 4.0E system with the following software:

  Netscape Enterprise Server 3.6.2
Compaq Java J2SDK 1.2.2-8 (runtime only)
Compaq Java Fast Virtual Machine 1.2.2-4

and, Allaire JRUN 2.3.3 Build 158

We have a fairly constant problem with the JRUN process suddenly absorbing
95%-98% of the CPU. This seems to happen with no real link to the amount
of web server activity. (We also see the JRUN process gradually taking
more memory
over time but this may be a separate issue).

Has anyone experienced this CPU hogging by JRUN on Tru64, and if so,
  know any cause/fix?

We are aware that there are similar problems with some Linux systems
(the 'spinning cpu' syndrome) and have applied the suggested fix for that
(modifying endpoint.properties) but this may be un-related, and we can't
reproduce the problem in our test system anyway).

Many thanks in advance for your help,

  Lindsay
