Sorry for the lightly off-topic posting but I think it might be

Hello,
The new version of the K desktop environment, KDE 2.1, is now available.
KDE 2.1 will appear today, Monday Feb., 26th 2001, for all major Linux
distributions as well as for Tru64 Unix versions 4.x and 5.x. Please note
that again Tru64 Unix is the only commercial Unix variant where KDE
appears simultaneously with Linux and FreeBSD.
The new KDE 2.1 version is a major step forward, both in stability and
visual attractivity of the desktop. Screenshots of my desktop running KDE
2.1 are here:
ftp://ftp.radar.tugraz.at/pub/kde2/tru64/tomdesk3.jpg
ftp://ftp.radar.tugraz.at/pub/kde2/tru64/tomdesk4.jpg
The screenshots show KDE talking German. The default language is English,
of course. There's even a UK English language setting available.
Our working group is running this KDE 2.1 release now since about 4 days
without any problems or crashes. We have tested it on Tru64 4.0F and 5.0A.
The included web-browser, konqueror, now opens a big percentage (it
estimate 85-90%) of all WEB sites. It can even be configured to use JDK
1.2 on Tru64, available from Compaq, for Java powered sites (see README.Tru64
referenced below).
KDE 2.1 for Tru64 Unix can be downloaded from:
ftp://ftp.radar.tugraz.at/pub/kde2/tru64/2.1
The official KDE 2.1 announcement should show up today or in the next days
on:
http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-2.1.html
More informations are on:
ftp://ftp.radar.tugraz.at/pub/kde2/tru64/2.1/README.Tru64
Thanks to the KDE development team for their hard and good work and for
supporting me in making this port possible.
