Adding Disk Drives to RA7000

Managers,
I have been tasked with increasing available space on a Storage Works RA7000
raid array witch currently has 8X4.3GB Wide 16 HDs
running raid 0+1. The environment is Digital Unix 4.0. Can anyone provide a
cookbook method on how to install and configure the new drives. I want them
to be a part of the raid 0+1. Some specific questions I have are:
1. Can I mix drives, i.e. if I cannot obtain 4.3GB drives can I add 9.1?
2. What sort of down time will this have on my alpha box? The alpha is a
database server.
3. I am trying to connect a pc's serial port to the hsz70 controller with no
luck, i am using 8-n-1 nor flow control, is there something i am missing.
4. At minimum, I want 10GB of free space, how man drives will I need?

Finally, I have minimal experience with the raid controller, it's an
inheritance.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers,

A
