Managers,

The replies I received for the first query (understanding rsh) were to look
up the rshd(8) man page. While I had already done that, I understood more
by looking at the appropriate implementation (source code from any linux
system). The man page did not answer the question: are the ports in the
secondary connection fixed. I think not.

Popular answer to the second question was tcpdump.
