Hello Managers,

It seems to me that since I've upgraded my DS10 system to TU 5.1, I receive
from times to times the following message :

Subject: EVM ALERT [700]: SCSI event

======================= Binary Error Log event =======================
EVM event name: sys.unix.binlog.hw.scsi

Binary error log events are posted through the binlogd daemon, and
stored in the binary error log file, /var/adm/binary.errlog. This
event is used to report all SCSI device errors, including disk,
tape, HSZ raid events, and adapter errors.

The scu sho edt command gives the following result :

CAM Equipment Device Table (EDT) Information:

Bus/Target/Lun Device Type ANSI Vendor ID Product ID Revision N/W
    -------------- ----------- ------ --------- ---------------- -------- ---
     1 0 0 CD-ROM SCSI-2 COMPAQ CDR-8435 0013 N
     2 5 0 Sequential SCSI-2 QUANTUM DLT8000 0119 W
     2 6 0 Changer SCSI-2 ADIC FastStor DLT 0133 N
     3 0 0 Direct SCSI-2 DEC RZ2DD-KS (C) DEC 0306 W
     4 0 0 Direct SCSI-2 COMPAQ BB00911CA0 3B05 W
     4 2 0 Direct SCSI-2 COMPAQ BB00911CA0 3B05 W
.................................

So the problem comes from the RZ2DD which was delivered with the system.

Could it be a firmware revision problem for this disk ?

Thanks

Daniel
