Many thanks to Chris Ford, Boe Carrico, Rodney Simioni, Dan Price, Sheila
Hollenbaugh, Marcelo Fiuza, Kevin Dea, Tom Kemp, Derk Tegeler and George
Dimitoglou.
Everyone said make sure that the person trying su is in the system group.
This was verified. However, on Server2, where I can NOT su root, the id of
group system is NOT 0, but 204.
Several people noted that GID for system should be 0, and one changed the
GID to 204 and could not su to root.
I don't know why the GID for system is not 0 and I tried to change it to 0
but was refused with the message that it was outside the user-defined range.
I verified that no other GID was already 0.
Any other suggestions?
