I am trying to configure the com2 db9 port on an Alpha12000 / DS20 in order that we can connct a modem to it to use hylafax software. So I have figured out that from the system boot prompt I need the following commands,
set com2_modem on
set com2_flow hard
set com2_baud 38400
I'm not sure if these commands are correct, but none of them gave an error message.
Next I guess that I need to add an entry into /etc/inttab. I have tried the following, making the assumption that com2 is /dev/tty02.
tty02:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty /dev/tty02 38400 vt100
I have connected a screen to the port and then tried to cat a file out to the port, cat /etc/profile >/dev/tty02, but so far without success.
Can anyone help me out with this problem?
