Hi Managers!
Got some problems with syslog on a few 5.1 patch 1-boxes: I cant get them to
forward syslog-messages to my solaris 8 syslog-server (myserver.mynet.net).
All my other machines can do it (i.e. solaris, FreeBSD) but it just wont
work on the alpha's.
When I run syslogd in debug-mode I get this error (not sure if it is
related):
syslogd: unknown priority name "*"
logmsg: pri 53, flags 4, from traw3cph103, msg syslogd: unknown priority
name "*"
This is my /etc/syslog.conf-file, the same as on the other unix-variants I
use (well, the _at_myserver.mynet.net is):
kern.debug /var/adm/syslog.dated/kern.log
user.debug /var/adm/syslog.dated/user.log
mail.debug /var/adm/syslog.dated/mail.log
daemon.debug /var/adm/syslog.dated/daemon.log
auth.debug /var/adm/syslog.dated/auth.log
syslog.debug /var/adm/syslog.dated/syslog.log
lpr.err /var/adm/syslog.dated/lpr.log
msgbuf.err /var/adm/crash/msgbuf.savecore
kern.debug /var/adm/messages
kern.debug /dev/console
*.emerg *
*.* _at_myserver.mynet.net
Ive tried, just for fun, to use * instead of *.*, but its all the same.
Med venlig hilsen/Kind Regards
