Thanks to Compaq Support (and the man pages) for the solution:
- Euro symbol in text file must be encoded at the position 0xA4 (164)
(Iso Specs).
- OS must be greater than 4.0e
- The WorldWide Lnaguage Support subsets must be installed
(Associated Product vol1 cdrom)
that means: European + "my contry" locales (for France: fr.FR.ISO8859-15)
Iso-Latin9 fonts
Printing Support (for the filter wwpsof)
- A running font server (if not, type: /sbin/init.d/xfs start)
the font server is used by the filter for downloading bitmaps fonts.
- A postscript Printer (level2 or level1 with the composite font extensions)
defined in printcap with "if=/usr/lbin/wwpsof"
- Locale fr.FR.ISO8859-15 must be set before usin the lpr command
or set it for the print job with "lpr -O locale=fr.FR.ISO8859-15".
Test were made successfully with a Postscript hplaserjet5m printer
and a Tru64 5.1 station.

Objet: how to print a text file with a dowloaded font from command line
Hello Managers,
I want to print a text file with a special symbol (euro) on a printer which
can't do this with its default font.
I think it is possible if i can download a font to the printer. Lpr can do
that, but I don't know how to correctly use the -A option (should I use the
font= option? and where can I find this font name?)
Thanks
