Hi folks,
in the archive I just found similar question, ... but no answer yet

I cannot use compression on a DLT7000.
I cannot dump more than 36 gigas of files on a single DLT7000 ... and
I am sure that compression can be partly done these files .

Can someone tell me if something is wrong in the following
   [details below] ?

or better , tell me what entry should be put in this /etc/ddr.dbase

There is nothing on the Tru64 5.1 or 4.0F for DLT7000,
only for :
    Name = "COMPAQ" "DLT4000"
    Name = "COMPAQ" "DLT8000"
    Name = "COMPAQ" "SuperDLT1"

Also, by the way, can some one tell me what to put in this /etc/ddr.dbase
for the DLT1 , that is a DLT7000 that can write 40 gigas native at a
smaller speed [ 3Mbytes/second ]

thank you !
