curious disk activity

Hi all,

ES40, V5.0A, PK1

Since moving to V5 a while ago, I've noticed some curious
disk activity, whereby the activity light on bunches of
disks seem to flick in synchrony about once a second.
The bunches vary in the numbers of disks and members of the bunch,
they are sometimes on the same SCSI bus, and other times not,
and it doesnt always happen, but generally I see some
activity, somewhere, at regular 1-sec intervals, even on
an otherwise idle machine.

All my disks are UFS filesystems, and I have no RAID
running. Error logs arent growing, and I dont have
'hwmgr -flash' running! If it's cache flushing, why does
it flush the same bunch of disks over and over again
every second.

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers,
Terry.
