NFS file locking problems

I'm experiencing problems with file locking between my tru64 / DU systems.
I have a DU 4.0D patch 3 system that is serving the mail spool to several
other DU 4.0 / Tru 64 5.0A / linux clients and several times the clients
have had difficulties running pine or other mail client program on the NFS
mounted mail spool. The problem seems to be the client program cannot get
a lock on the users' mail file and so the program just hangs. We just
experienced a power failure and the server went down. When it came back
up, the clients are now experiencing the locking problem.

I've killed and restarted rpc.statd & rpc.lockd on both the server and a
client machine -- even rebooted the client and pine still hangs trying to
read mail.

Is there any utility I can run to fix this ?

Thanks,
