thanks to all who replied,
i will use the sysadmin_at_astro.su.se's solution:
simply type "quote site umask 002" under NT client ftp prompt. It works
fine!
I was proposed this solutions for the server, but they don't work:
- ftpd -u ... in /etc/inetd.conf
- write a wrapper in C where umask() function is used before ftpd call.
- add "umask 002" in /sbin/init.d/inetd script
