Iam updating a Digital Personal WS 500au from 4.0D to 5.1.
From 4.0D to 4.0G went well.
From 4.0G to 5.1 Iam getting the following error :
/cdrom/isl/updeng : fork failed -too many processes

I got this error message few times and system was again trying to update.
So I stopped the update Opearation by pressing reset button. Afterwards
I can not boot the system in single usermode. I get the following
  message on the screen

  Enter run level (0-9,s-S)

When I give s or S I get this message:

will change to s or S

and then run level question comes again.
I also tried by power off and on. No success.
I donot know how I have to procced further since I can not get to single
user mode. I have deleted Open3D SW from the system as requested
by update operation. This is the first time Iam making an update like
this.
  I have a backup from V4.0G

   Thanks in advance,
    Kumar
