Using mirrored plex for contingency

Hi ,

I have an environment running UNIX V4.0F. I'm planning to break off my LSM mirrored volumes and use the detached plex as an online standby.

Example: I have a volume group (datadg1) consisting of rz24 & rz25 mirrored to rz32 and rz33 respectively. Can I detach the rz32 and rz33 plexes, remove it from the volume group and keep it as standby? In case I need to fall back to my old data, I'm thinking of deporting rz24 & rz25, destroy the 2 disks (relabel the disks), then recreate the volume group datadg1 from rz32 and rz33 by using voldisk define and voldg import.

Will the above plan work? will my volume group complains about the missing rz24 & rz25? if the above steps won't work, I'd appreciate very much if someone can show me step by step in how to re-use my rz32 and rz33.

Thanks in advance,

Carlos
