howto simulate a nonrewinding tape ?

Hello all,

is it possible to write e.g. multiple tar-files onto a single file on disk,
so that the diskfile simulates a nonrewinding tape and that i can use the
mt-command with the fsf/bsf option on that diskfile ?
I need this for testing an backup-concept ?
