Since there seems to be some concern about the current status of the
patch kit, here is the latest information. The patch kit is on hold
for the following reason:
> There is nothing wrong with the contents of the
> patch kit. However, a problem has been discovered with the baselining
> feature of the dupatch installation tool in which it does not
> operate properly. A situation has been discovered in dupatch
> that disables the ability to enable patches for installation once
> conflicts are found during the baseline process. The symptom of the
> problem is that conflicts between the patch kit and installed software
> are found as expected, however the user is not given the ability to
> enable patches for installation in phase 5 of the baseline process. In
> phase 5 of baselining, it will show that no patches with file
> applicability conflicts are detected, however, in previous phases of
> baselining, conflicts were encounterd. This mainly affects customers
> with manually installed patches and wants to overwrite them with the
> contents of the patch kit. If you have successfully installed this
> patch kit, then this problem will have no effect on your system.
I do not have any further information, such as when the replacement kit
will be available, at this time.
