search engines

I have been asked to look for a new search engine for our web server. We
are currently using something called swish-e. It apparently is not
returning results in a way to make it easy to find information. I guess it
is not putting much/anything for weight on words found in titles, headings,
etc. What are others out there using for search engines on Tru64 5.1
(where ours will be shortly) and Apache 1.3.19? TIA.
