Hi,
I have a DS20 with Tru64 v5.1. This computer is a client of a Sun
server via nfs. The remote system is only providing the users
home directory. The system of the DS20 is on the local disk.
A few time ago, I have change my fstab: initially, I had something
like that:
/mnt/disk_at_remote /import/disk nfs rw,nosuid,bg 0 0
And now, it is:
/mnt/disk_at_remote /import/disk nfsv3 hard,tcp,rw,nosuid,bg 0 0
I use tcp because I was hoping it could give better results in
congestion states.
However, the DS20 is crashing when the nfs server is
down. Furthermore, a DEC 3000 with OSF v4.OE is mounting
the same disks. My fstab is :
/mnt/disk_at_remote /import/disk nfs hard,tcp,rw,nosuid,bg 0 0
This computer is never crashing when the nfs server is down.
Is there a specific problem with DEC-Sun-nfsv3 relationship ? Or
is it something weird in the Tru64 v5.1 kingdown ?
Thanks,
Thierry Chich
