Kevin Fleming and Dr. Thomas Blinn hit the nail. Patch kit 3 wasn’t an
improvement for /usr/lbin/lpd and the problem is under investigation. I
installed Pk2 lpd and now lpd frees again the queue (but still fills the log
file with the error messages) so that printing to the printservers works.
