Hello Tru64UNIX system managers,
Tru64UNIX/TruCluster V5.1A is getting ready for release shortly, and I am
looking for system managers currently using TruCluster (or just interested
in TruCluster) to participate in usability testing of V5.1A.
To call it "testing" is a misnomer... first, I send you the latest
documentation for TruCluster V5.1A. You read it all and remember every word
;-). Then you come to Compaq's UNIX engineering site here in New Jersey, sit
in front of our equipment, and create a two member TruCluster from the boot
prompt to a fully running TruCluster.
I observe what you do and note any problems so that we can correct them
before we ship the product. You benefit by using the latest release and
learning all about its features before it is even released. It is almost
like a one day TruCluster hands-on course.
(TruCluster fans might be interested to know that V5.1A supports the use of
network interface cards (NICs) as the cluster interconnect, as an
alternative to memory channel. So we'd be setting up a 100BaseT NIC based
TruCluster.)
The creation of the TruCluster takes around one day. Optionally, bring an
application and come in a second day to run it on the TruCluster and make it
highly available.
Our site is located in mid-eastern New Jersey, near the town of Freehold,
right on US Route 9. It is approximately 45 minutes south of Newark airport.
We cannot defray your travel expenses, but we do provide lunch each day.
Available dates are 19/20-Jun-2001, and 26/27-Jun-2001.
Please reply to this email if you are interested.
Thanks,
Paul
