I have about 40 XP1000's running 4.0F located in a "public" area and
consequently have idle systems with screenlock running. I want to automatically
log this person out of the CDE environment after a period of inactivity and make
the workstation available to another user.
In the archives I found:
Disable the autolock in the users style menu: This prevents the screen from
autolocking but does not prevent them from selecting the lock on the CDE panel.
In addition, we don't want the screen to remain open for security reasons.
tcsh autologout: I don't know this will log them out of CDE. Any input here
would be appreciated.
I have thought about a script that periodically checks for the screenlock
process. If there, start monitoring the activity of the user logged onto the
console. If inactive for a specified period time, log them off. (gracefully if
possible). I'm not sure how to log them out of windows.
I would appreciate any input from those who have been down this path before.
Thanks
