Question:

Is there any method to "float" a Digital UNIX PAK license (ie fortran or C++
licenses) in a similar fashion to Globetrotters FLEXlm whereas a license can
be "checked out" from a license server?

Answer:

To date... no, but there are intentions of implementing the FLEXlm technology.

Thanks for the replies sent from:

I think the good doctor pretty much sums it up in the following statements.

"There is a project underway in Tru64 UNIX to implement FlexLM licensing
in some future release of the product (but not the one due out this summer),
and at some point after that, Compaq *might* start using FlexLM licensing
for Compaq developed layered software like the Fortran and C++ compilers,
and at that point, someone *might* have a marketing program to "trade in"
old LMF licensed product licenses (and PAKs) for FlexLM licensed products."
