Dear managers:
For to do backups of our servers, currently we
put they off line,
shutdown the database Oracle and re-start they as single user mode to
get
a root prompt using:
P00>>>boot -flags l
When we get the root prompt, we mount the file systems
# mount -a
But in one of that serever an error message is displayed:
NFS portmap: RPC: Port mapper failure -RPC: unable to send
Initially, I tend to ignore the message, perform the backups, and then
I restart the server using
P00>> b
when the booting is in progress, after of load the AdvFS, the
server try to mount an NFS, this takes a long time but then the
process continues "normally" until the booting ends. The question is
that when I login
as oracle, I find that the database is down (ps -ef | grep ora) and a
lot of core directories
and files do appears in this point filling the domain usr.
Can anyone help me with this isse?
Many thanks for your cooperation
Eduardo Poblete
