Hi,

We are runnning Tru64 Unix 5.0a with Oracle 8.1.6 on a es40. Our server has
been running without any problems for about 260 days. The only reason we are
having to reboot now is due to following error message.

task_create() failed for pid 238233: max_proc_per_user (=256) exceeded for
uid

I have adjusted the value to 2000, in our sysconfigtab file.

Looking thru our health check report it states the following:-

Tuning Suggestion: Disable adaptive FIFO's in order to obtain optimal
performance.
Baan performs best when the value of the vfs attribute fifo-do-adaptive ( 1
) is set to 0. Use the sysconfigdb command or the Kernel Tuner to add the
following to /etc/sysconfigtab:

vfs:
        fifo-do-adaptive=0

Could someone tell me what this means? (adaptive FIFO? Baan?)

Regards

Mark
