Hi, We are running 4 Tru64 5.0a Alpha ES40 boxes, and we use Level 8's Xipc for the clients to connect to the Alpha Servers. We have been having a problem with the Xipc instance for our Online server getting hung up--for no apparent reason. We try doing a "stop_server", but that just hangs up. We also trying doing a full blown "stopxipc", which would kill the daemons as well--but that gets hung up when it tries to stop the online instance. The only solution is to reboot the machine, and when it comes back up, everything is fine. Does anybody else use Xipc on their servers? Has anybody had a similar problem? Please let me know if any of you have any suggestions. If you can't help with why it gets hung up in the first place, perhaps you would know how to get it un-hung without rebooting. Thanks in advance...
