Sendmail trouble

Currently I am still having trouble using sendmail. I can't use sendmail as
any other user. Root can sendmail.

        So far it hasn't been a permissions problem on the sendmail
executable or var/spool/mail
        
        My Version number is 4.0

        In the var/adm/syslog.dated/current/mail.log
                I see errors about Remote Protocol Error

Any ideas would of a great help
