I have an Alphaserver 4100, with 4 CPU's/2.5Gb RAM running
Dec Unix 4.0D with the latest patchkit.
Recently, over the last month, every few days the server will
Panic and reboot with the message "Receive 3". There is no
specific CPU involved, and there are no other hardware error
messages logged.
A stack trace shows the culprit to be the soreceive routine. This is
consistent. Nothing else is (time of day / uptime / current process).

I have searched the list archives and the net at large for any reference to this
problem in Dec Unix, and have found none.
Has anyone else seen this problem and found a solution? Is this perhaps the
result of a (strange) port scan confusing a socket?
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Brad Bell.
